|Uses:||Diagnosis of bacterial infection. May be helpful in patients suspected of having meningitis who have been pretreated and culture and gram stain are negative.|
|Limitations:||Specimen showing gross hemolysis, lipemia, or turbidity. A negative test does not necessarily eliminate the possibility of infection.|
