Temperature:Room temperature for transport. Refrigerated for storage.
Rejection:Improper labeling.
Normal:Report includes interpretation.
Uses:Determination of antibody specificity in serum or on cells.
Limitations:Test is done on patients with a positive antibody screen as necessary. Finding compatible blood still may not be possible. Antibodies may be too weak to be detected and identified. Antibodies to low incidence antigens may not be detected. Antibody identification may require referral for further work. Phenotyping to locate compatible units will occur if necessary..
