Temperature:Room temperature, transport to lab within 10 minutes.
Rejection:Refrigerated specimen.
NOT RECEIVED IN LAB WITH-IN 1 HOUR
Normal:No growth after 10 days.
Uses:Identify microorganisms that may cause infection.
Limitations:Antibiotic therapy may inhibit growth. Culture is more sensitive than gram stain. Contamination with adjacent areas should be avoided.
