Rejection:Will attempt to extract DNA and perform assay if hemolysis or clotting are present or if blood is ina preservative other than EDTA.
Normal:N/N genotype for each locus
Uses:To detect the Factor V Leiden , Prothrombin G20210A, Methyleneterahydrofolate reductase C677T/A1298C mutations associated with hereditary thrombophilia.
Limitations:This assay detects ONLY the Leiden mutation in the Factor V gene (R5060Q), the G20210A mutation in the Prothrombin gene and the C6777T and A1298C mutations in the Methyleneterahydrofolate reductase gene.
