Rejection:Contaminated with feces.
Normal:1.0-14.0 mg/dL
Uses:Aid in evaluating hyperproteinemia, nephrotic syndromes and renal diseases, including those complicating diabetes mellitus. Quantitative evaluation of proteinurea.
Limitations:Presence of many white blood cells can alter results. False negative results have been reported with very dilute urine, highly buffered alkaline urine, urine high in sodium and urea-splitting infectious organisms of the urinary tract.
