Container:Clean plastic urine collection container with lid
Temperature:Refrigerate during collection (24 hour urines) or if not transported to laboratory within 1 hour (random).
Rejection:Contaminated with feces or contact with metal.
Normal:1.0-13.0 mg/dL
Uses:Magnesium is an essential element which is cleared by the kidneys; normal daily excretion of magnesium is equivalent to the amount taken in with the diet.
Limitations:Increased blood alcohol levels increases urinary magnesium excretion.
