Specimen:Specify specimen site. Do not use this test on skin, hair or nail, see Fungus culture skin, hair or nailTissue is preferred for recovery of fungus from deep seated infections. Send tissue sample in sterile container with a small amount of non-bacteriostatic saline to prevent drying of the sample. Swab collections are NOT recommended.
