Uses:Along with the lungs, the kidneys are the major regulators of the acid-base content on the body. They do this through the secretion of hydrogen in the form of ammnium bonate from the filrate in the convoluted tubules.
Limitations:Substances that cause abnormal urine color may affect the reading of the reagent pad on the dipstick.
