Available:Daily, first shift only. Specimens received in the lab before 10:00 AM are performed same day.
Turnaround:1-2 days. Test performed daily, first shift only. Specimens received in the lab before 10:00 AM are resulted the same day.
Specimen:First catch (not midstream) urine, or urine collected at least 2 hours after last void.
Volume:10 ml
Container:Sterile, leak-proof container
Temperature:Transport to the lab ASAP. Refrigerate until specimen is sent to the lab.
Rejection:Inappropriately identified or commingled specimens.

Diluted specimens are unacceptable.

QNS specimens will be rejected.
Normal:Negative for Chlamydia trachomatis and Neissieria gonorrhoeae by PCR.
Uses:Detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neissieria gonorrhoeae by PCR.
Limitations:A negative result does not necessarily rule out infection.
