Rejection:Will attempt to extract DNA and perform assay if hemolysis or clotting are present or if blood is in a preservative other than EDTA.
Normal:N/N genotype
Uses:To detect the Prothrombin G20210A mutation associated with hereditary thrombophilia. This test is also included in the Thrombophilia Panel.
Limitations:This assay detects ONLY the G20210A mutation in the Prothrombin gene.
