Páncreas

(Pancreas)

El páncreas es una glándula alargada y plana que se ubica en el abdomen, detrás del estómago. Produce enzimas que se liberan al intestino delgado para ayudar en la digestión. También contiene grupos de células llamados “islotes”. Las células de los islotes producen hormonas, como la insulina y el glucagón, que ayudan a controlar el nivel de glucosa (un tipo de azúcar) en la sangre.
