FUNdraising Dance and Dinner for the Sickle Cell Patient Transition Fund

The Dayton Urban Ballroom Group is proud to ballrooming and steppin' with a purpose as it hosts the third annual Onyx & Ice Ball FUNdraising Dance and Dinner. Come join the fun! Be sure to wear blak and white with a tourhc of red. Dinner will be served at 9:00 pm sharp. The featured musical host is Detroit's DJ Rockin' Rodney Mack and Dayton's DJ Paul. The event is followed by the "Red Eye" After Party from 1:30 am - 4:00 am. All event proceeds will benefit the Sickle Cell Patient Transition Fund at the West Central Ohio Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center at Dayton Children's.

There are activities throughout the weekend:

Friday, September 7
Registration and will call for ticket package 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza.

"Dancers Meet and Greet" from 8:00 pm - 1:00 am at the Crowne Plaza. The musical host is Cleveland's DJ Butta playing the best in Ballroomin' and Steppin' music. Special guest DJ is Detroit's DJ Blackmajik. Cost is $15.00/$20.00 at the door.

Saturday, September 8
Ballroom Workshop with Detroit's H. Demetrius Jones from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Chicago Steppin' Workshop with Chicago's Dave Maxx from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm.

Cost is $20.00 per workshop.

Sunday, September 9
The "Red Eye" After Party from 1:30 am - 4:00 am with Music Masters, Dayton's DJ Paul and DJ Calvin.

Farewell Dancers' Brunch at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm with Featured Music Meastro, Chicago's DJ Calvin with DJ Paul. $20.00 at the door.

The host hotel is the newly renovated Crowne Plaza at 33 E. Fifth Street in Dayton. Room rate for King or Queen double is $95. To make reservations, call 937-224-0800 and use the reservation code: Dayton Urban Ballroom Group.

The Dayton Police Department and the Dayton Fire Department have teamed up with the Dayton Dragons to host “Battle of the Badges,” a charity softball game, on June 23, 2013 to benefit the CARE House.
