The asthma care program (ACP) is located within the three west general pediatrics unit and provide comprehensive management of acute asthma.

Diagnoses or Conditions Treated

The focus of the asthma care program (ACP) is aggressive treatment of patients with asthma by a specially trained staff of nurses and respiratory therapists. Patient/family education is provided with every clinical encounter, preparing the child and family for preventive and therapeutic asthma disease management.

  • Admission under observation for aggressive treatment under 24 hours
  • Inpatient admission as necessary
  • Asthma action plan
