Dayton Children’s is licensed to provide newborn and pediatric mobile intensive care ground transport between hospitals within our referral region. Our service is provided free of charge to children transferred to Dayton Children's newborn intensive care unit (NICU) and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) from referral facilities. The transport team consists of specially trained nursing and respiratory personnel who are capable of stabilizing the most critically ill newborns, infants, children and adolescents.
Transport Services We Offer
Ground transportation utilizing specially designed vehicles equipped with all the technical equipment (transport isolettes, ventilators, cardiac and invasive/noninvasive pressure monitoring, transcutaneous and exhaled gas monitoring and more) to provide continuous treatment and monitoring of sick infants and children.
Vehicles are driven by our full-time security staff with Emergency Vehicle Operator or Emergency Medical Technician certification.
Air transportation for patients traveling to or from a distant hospital may be arranged.
