Dayton Children’s provides specialized surgical services to infants, children, teens and young adults. More than 12,000 surgeries are performed annually, ranging from outpatient procedures such as ear tubes to surgeries that require a hospital stay.
The surgical team comprised of surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses are specially trained to meet the surgical needs and concerns of children. The majority—nearly 90 percent—of our surgeries are outpatient, so kids go home the same day, enabling them to rest and heal in the comfort of their home.
Our surgeons are experienced in performing minimally invasive surgeries which offer many benefits including faster healing, less pain, less scarring and quicker recovery. Using the most advanced laproscopic equipment, this type of surgery is available to treat many conditions.
