Dr. Thomas F. Murphy has been the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Dayton Children’s since 1997. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
He has been a very active member in organizations such as the Infectious Disease Society of America and the American College Physician Executives. He is also a member of Chapter East and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Education
Dr. Murphy received his bachelor’s degree from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, and his medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He completed his pediatric internship, residency and fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. In 1995, Dr. Murphy received his master of public health degree at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Murphy is retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of active duty. He and his wife, Jane, have two children and five grandchildren.
