Ilona Albrecht is a doctor.

Ilona Brener Albrecht, DO is a provider in the Children's Health Clinic at Dayton Children's providing primary care pediatric medicine. Dr. Albrecht trained as a pediatric resident at Dayton Children's through Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Dr. Albrecth has also served as Diabetes Camp physician for the Diabetes Association of the Dayton Area.

Special Interests: Promoting healthy life style with nutrition and physical activity, helping manage and prevent childhood overweight and obesity concerns

  • Lead investigator in the Preschool Vision Screening Quality Improvement Learning Collaborative through the Ohio chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics at the Children’s Health Clinic. 2014.
  • Faculty preceptor for the Pediatric Resident’s AAP-APA CORNET QI project “ National Partnership for Adolescent Immunization (NPAI) Learning Collaborative” – meets the ACGME requirement for Resident QI Project. 2014.
  • Lead investigator in the Pound of Cure Quality Improvement Initiative through the Ohio chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics at the Children’s Health Clinic.  Recruited and coached children ages 2-18 with a BMI greater than the 85th percentile to participate in the POC collaborative with the goal of health improvement. 2012 – 2013.
  • Sub-clinical investigator.  A Phase III Randomized, Partially Double-Blind, Active-Comparator-Controlled, Lot-to-Lot Consistency Clinical Study to Evaluate the Safety, Tolerability, and Immunogenicity of V419 in Healthy Infants When Given at 2, 4, and 6 Months Concomitantly with Prevnar 13 and RataTeq. 2011 -2013.
  • Participation in the national survey for Continuity Clinic residents "Perceptions of Utilization of Healthcare Services by Pediatric Residents and their Families.” CORNET (Continuity Clinic Research Network), Academic Pediatric Societies (PAS). University of Michigan and John Hopkins.
  • Participation in the study of boy’s physical development, “Secondary Sexual Characteristics in Boys Seen in Office Practice.” Pediatric Research in Office Settings, American Academy of Pediatrics. 2005.
  • Participated in the Intelligent Decision Support for Type I Diabetics on Insulin Pump Therapy study. Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Schwartz, Frank MD, principal investigator.  2006.

I chose my specialty because... I have always loved working with children and helping others.

I chose to work at Dayton Children's because... it is a place that truly cares for the community and families it serves. Dayton Children’s is constantly taking strides to improve the care that it provides. The hospital cares for its staff and employees to help make sure that patient care is the number one priority. I also enjoy working with and teaching the residents who train here.

Dayton Children's is special because... This is where I completed my residency training and have formed many special friends and relations.

My personal Interests are... Spending time with my family and friends, the outdoors, traveling and cooking.
