C. Renae Phillips, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE,, Vice President of inpatient care services and chief nurse executive
C. Renae Phillips, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, serves as Vice President for Patient Care Services and is the Chief Nurse Executive. Prior to joining Dayton Children’s in 2005, Renae was Chief Operations Officer at Pope & Pope Associates, Inc., a management-consulting firm in Cincinnati. During her career, Renae was a partner at Ernst & Young in the health care consulting practice and has been the Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Executive for hospitals in Cincinnati, Virginia, and Texas. While serving in those roles, she was able to build expertise in hospital and nursing administration, resource and quality management, group facilitation, training and education.
Renae is currently the President of the Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives and a member of the steering committee for the state’s Nursing 2015 initiative. Renae is a recent recipient of the Distinguished Nurse Administrator Award from her alma mater, The College of Mount Saint Joseph. She earned the Ernst & Young Value Award for Outstanding Service and is a former Who’s Who in Nursing award winner. Renae has served on the adjunct faculty for Xavier University's master's in health administration and for the College of Mount St. Joseph's nursing program. She has also been very active in community efforts focused on housing, community health, medical missions and wellness. Renae is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the national nursing honor society. Renae has enjoyed Leadership Dayton and is a member of the class of 2006. Several of her other professional memberships include the American College of Health Care Executives, Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
Renae earned her MSN from the University of Cincinnati and her nursing degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph. Renae is a certified nurse administrator. She and her husband, David, reside in Springboro and have three adult children.
