Brief description of endocrinology and metabolism:
This endocrinology and metabolism clinic at Dayton Children's provides a comprehensive range of services in the areas of endocrinology and diabetes mellitus. The diabetes clinic offers a multidisciplinary approach to care with services proviced by an endocrinologist, pediatric nurse practitioner, diabetes nurse educator, nutritionist and social worker.

Diagnoses or conditions treated:

• Diabetes mellitus
• Adrenal disorders
• Disorders of sexual development
• Polycystic ovarian disorder
• Growth disorders (short and tall)
• Thyroid disorders
• Calcium and bone disorders 
• Diabetes insipidus
• Hypoglycemia
• Parathyroid disorders
• Turner syndrome

Services available:

• Consultation, evaluation and treatment for diabetes and endocrine disorders
• Stimulation testing on Almost Home unit for certain endocrine disorders
• Diabetes and nutrition education

Clinics:

Office hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Most pediatric specialties require a referral from a primary care provider to make an appointment. Please check with your child's doctor first if you feel you need to schedule an appointment with endocrinology.
