Neurology director; neonatologist join staff Pedro Weisleder, MD , has joined Dayton Children’s as director of neurology. Dr. Weisleder joins Daniel Lacey, MD, Gogi Kumar, MD, and Nadir Khan, MD, in caring for infants, children and teens with neurological disorders. He comes to Dayton Children’s from the pediatric neurology division at Duke University School of Medicine and is board certified in child neurology. If you believe your child needs neurology services, talk to your pediatrician or family doctor about a referral. Jay Dritz, MD , has joined neonatology and the staff of the Regional Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Dayton Children’s. Dr. Dritz is board certified in pediatrics and comes to Dayton Children’s from Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. Dayton Children’s NICU is a nationally recognized, state-of-the-art, developmentally centered unit offering a full range of care for premature and critically ill newborns. Dr. Dritz joins David Yohannan, MD, and Jerod Rone, MD. The NICU physicians have privileges at other hospitals in the region to provide care as needed to premature or critically ill newborns. These hospitals include Good Samaritan, Kettering Medical Center, Sycamore, Grandview, Southview, Greene Memorial Hospital, Upper Valley Medical Center, Community Mercy Health Partners (Springfield) and Middletown Regional Hospital. Dayton Children’s to go smoke-free Specialty clinics open in outpatient care center Dayton Children’s is pleased to announce the opening of the fourth floor of the outpatient center. Several specialty clinics have moved to their new locations in the outpatient care center. These clinics include infectious disease, neurology and EEG, and nutrition. We are certain you will be pleased with the bright, new surroundings and the convenient location just off the upper level parking area. Relocated Flood Memorial dedicated The new park – located just east of the intersection of Valley and Keowee Streets – was dedicated June 23 in honor of Joseph R. Kanak, a lifetime resident and dedicated advocate for Old North Dayton.
